COURSE DESCRIPTION

Java programming classes teach students how to create, operate and develop the java language for almost any application. Topics covered includes the java programming language syntax.
OO programming using java, exception handling, file input/output, threads, collection classes, and networking. Students will develop and test Java applications (typically) using Eclipse. This course is a pre-requisite to all Application Server courses, and specially Java Technology course such as Struts, spring, and Hibernate.

  • Compile and run a Java application
  • Understand the role of JVM in platform independence.
  • Use the Object Oriented paradigm in Java programs
  • New Java 8 features (Lambda Expressions, Streaming & Filtration, Date Time API)
  • Generics and Collection Framework
  • Use exceptions to handle run time errors
  • Select the proper I/O class among those provided by the JDK.
  • Intro to Databases (MySQL) with Java
  • Using SQL DML statements
